Organic Eco-Wool:

The premium, cruelty-free organic Eco-Wool™ is humanely shorn from free-grazed, hormone-free, homeopathically raised California sheep that graze in pesticide-free meadows, and is processed under strict purity controls. Wool is a great natural temperature regulator, keeping the body warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Wool is also a resilient, durable fiber, and is naturally flame resistant, allowing us to meet all federal flammability standards without the use of chemical fire retardants.

Talalay 100%-Natural Rubber Latex:

OMI’s natural rubber latex cores come from sustainably harvested rubber-tree sap. They are imported as a powder, then made here in the USA, so none of our cores are ever subject to the fumigation required on imported products. Only pure (non-blended), 100% natural Talalay-process rubber.

About the word “Latex”

Orginally there was just one kind of “latex”, often referred to as “natural rubber,” which decribed products made from the milk of the rubber tree. During World War II, rubber was unavailable, so synthetic rubber was created using petrochemicals, namely styrene and butadiene. This rubber, often call “SB rubber,” is also often referred to as “latex,” yet it comes from chemical reactions, not rubber plantations. To make matter even more confusing, marketers often refer to chemically produced polyurethane viscous or memory-foam products as “latex.” Further clouding the issue, manufacturers have begun blending small amounts of natural rubber with synthetic rubber and marketing these precuts as “made from 100% natural laxtex.”
